Well, as I’ve been mainly posting about my time at Fan Expo in the last few weeks, there are a couple things here and there that didn’t fit in which I will be able to now! (Yay?) I initially tried to add a couple new things but realized it was getting out of hand so that will be for next time.
And just out of curiosity,
WHY AM I STILL KILLING MOSQUITOES IN OCTOBER?!?!?!
I live in a place where we have roughly 6 months of winter, which start in mid to late October, but bugs are usually gone by September! I guess it doesn’t help that part of my mom’s garden has been moved indoors but that only brings in small flies. The point is this does not help what little concentration/patience I already have.
Oh and I’m already behind on Heroes and Fringe but I will hopefully get caught up on Grey’s Anatomy and Private Practice tonight. And don’t even get me started on anything anime… (or Smallville…)
No I did not go see the Jonas Brothers…

Or the Wonder Girls (grr. I’m jealous of my friends who did see them sing Nobody). I was at the Fan Expo!
This is a little late now but the end of summer and school were a little higher up on my list so yeah! Better late than never? lol
It was an action-packed three days (with little sleep) and an awesome time. My only regret is that I didn’t use a lot of flash in my pictures so many ended up blurry but I was just trying to be nice and not add to the blindness created by all the other flash photographers. But apparently, it was needed. I still have a lot of pictures though so it’s alright.

Being me, I forgot to say anything about how I was going to be away at my friend’s cottage for a week! But that aside, I had NO INTERNET! This trip reminded me of my dependence on it and how integral it has become in our everyday lives. Not that it’s completely a bad thing, though. Just something to think about. Particularly how many hours you spend in a day staring at a screen… and what time of day… but anyway, I was always busy so I think there were only two long moments when I thought about wanting the internet and that was only because some of the people I was with were going into town that day to go to an internet cafe and the other time was because I remember it was Friday and I’d have to read my weekly manga and possibly start writing my weekly(ish) post. Which I have to say was pretty impressive. I still can’t believe I survived a whole week! Of course, that will make me even more behind but that’s just something I have to deal with… lol
While at the cottage, I was able to see this cool sky after a storm.
It’s really cool because you can still see some blue in the sky mixed with the pink as well as a rainbow and where the sunset is currently hitting the trees. Very cool. Here is some more of the mix of pink and blue sky and this one is full out pink.
If only there was a restaurant of paradise…

Well, to some people, it would be Casetta Dell’orso, but I’ll admit I don’t think it is. But then again, I must be wrong since the show is called Ristorante Paradiso.
lol well I guess this is paradise for someone, right?
But yeah… hmmm…. so I initially wrote this in parts and assumed by the end it wouldn’t be that long so I could put all three show reviews together but it ended up being kinda long… plus I am going to be busy in the next couple weeks with my summer school exam and then going to California and so I’m going to split this up. Oh the suspense lol.

Exams are done. And so is school.
For a week.
Then I have summer school for 3 weeks. I hope it’s not too awkward because while I do know the people in my class, they’re not people I would usually talk to so it might get weird… can’t say I’m looking forward to that, but we’ll see. As well, due to exams, I haven’t been watching too much stuff but I have been reading (due to the logic that a chapter can be read in under 5 minutes so I have a good place to stop at anytime… not. Stupid cliffhangers.) I’ve actually started to read xxxHolic (I’m at like chapter 50-ish) and it’s really cool! Well, CLAMP is awesome, but I like the subtle references to other stuff in the CLAMP world, particularly what’s going on in Tsubasa. But I guess because they have more than one manga running ‘weekly’ that they have to take more breaks to keep up… still, it’s very cool. I like the style of xxxHolic which at first seems like an unrelated name (at least to me) but it makes more sense because the people that Yuuko’s wish shop usually have are some sort of addiction or some sort of negative repetition, which makes it a *something*holic, or xxxHolic. I was not cool enough to think of that myself; I did read it on a board I think on Mangafox…? But anyway, it’s the best explanation I’ve seen and actually makes more sense and has importance in the story than some other titles out there. (Bleach anyone? Sure Ichigo’s got orange/bleached hair, but so what? It’s not like he’s the ONLY character with orange hair in that show. Or maybe I’m just blind and not seeing the big picture. That’s quite possible.)

GAH!
It’s crazy right now. I was planning to write a review on Kuroshitsuji, and possibly a joint one with Bartender and Antique Bakery, but then I got sidetracked and ended up finishing Grey’s Anatomy (omg!) and Lost (OMFG!) and then I was doing some missions in Crisis Core and now I’m preparing to fight Minerva and I’m gonna see Star Trek in a couple hours but I’m going shopping first so I have to get ready now and then I realized I need to finish reading Angels and Demons in time for next week so I read it before I watch the movie. And somehow I ended up on YouTube for a few hours and watched some more Whose Line Is It Anyway (here are two more good ones) and then I came across one of Bandai’s featured videos of Code Geass which is pretty cool that they got it on Youtube and it’s open to Canada too! lol.
However, it is dubbed so for those who want the original, the sub can be found on Crunchyroll, although you have at least the free membership… I think? lol I don’t even know. Anyway, I need to start watching that show…
Oh and I have an English essay due on Tuesday and a French one due on Friday, both of which I have barely started (and I’m already exaggerating). Yeah.
I’m really sorry there hasn’t been too much here in the past couple weeks but there will be more!
Anyway, I need to get ready before I’m gonna be late (did I ever mention I was almost an hour late to my own surprise party? Yeah.) so later!

My break is just about over. Excuse me for being in a horrible mood.
As such, I don’t plan on spending that much time on this post because I want to savour that last few moments I have of my break…
Dammit. Breaks need to be longer. Or I need to make better use of my time. How about both? It’s just hard when you find the few cool things you wanna do too late into the break. I hate that feeling.
Anyway, I can’t believe I keep forgetting to mention this but CONGRATULATIONS to all the FFXII NLBLLG players! In case you don’t know, this is a Final Fantasy XII with No License Board and it’s a Low Level Game. This means all you have at your disposal are basic equipment (and Wyrmhero Blade since it doesn’t have a license) and items. And apparently, it is not an impossible challenge after all! The final boss has been defeated! And even the Seer, who was also thought impossible, was beaten recently. The only enemy that remains to be defeated in NLBLLG is Chaos (and possibly Lv. 99 Red Chocobo? not sure about the confirmation on that one), but I have a feeling he may just be impossible. In the Chaos battle, you can’t use the ‘Attack’ command, plus you have to deal with the four Chaosjets… I’m not sure if he’s impossible yet but you are really crippled in that fight.
But seriously, to all you NLBLLG players, I salute you.
You are truly the gods and goddesses of FFXII.
And that is all I’m going to say for now.
Need… more… break…. time…

WTF? WHY IS THE FIRE NATION BROWN?!?!?!?!
This site has added a few more names to the cast list for The Last Airbender, the first move adaptation of Avatar and they are all brown people playing the people of the Fire Nation. The only good thing about this that I can think of is that since Zuko is already gonna be played by a brown guy, at least they’re consistent. BUT SERIOUSLY! Once again, WHY THE HELL IS THE FIRE NATION BROWN?!?!?!?! It’s too late for Zuko, but now so is Uncle Iroh and Zhao? Zhao is CLEARLY AN ASIAN NAME! AND NOT BROWN! Why? Why are they doing this? They obviously know what these people should be. I don’t understand why they’re doing things in a way that they know will not please the fans. I’ll give them a case for Aang and the air nomads who do look like they have lighter skin, but I still don’t know how you could think that Tibetan-style monks look white… But the Earth Kingdom has the only Asian so far? The Korean? That’s a start but come on…! And seriously, the Earth Kingdom is probably the better place to cast the whites. Why is everything so backward? I was already skeptical when they first said they were gonna make a live-action movie a long time ago, but this is just making me so much more annoyed. And they totally planned this. All of the parts for the movie asked for Caucasian or any other ethnicity. Seriously. I’ll let this photo essay do more of the talking. I’ve had enough.

Gah. This week has been horribly overloaded with work. And what really sucks is that I only have myself to blame since have of it I could have started last week. Why must I be a procrastinator…? Hmm, that’s actually an interesting question. Well, laziness is an obvious answer, but I feel like there’s more to it than that… hmm…
Anyway, due to the busy-ness (oh! business! I get it!) of this week, I haven’t been able to do too much and I’ll be out most of tonight so the rest of this post may come tomorrow, or when I have something a bit more interesting to comment on. But you can expect more stuff coming soon because I will be on a break after next week! YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!! lol
And, for some reason (I’m still not quite sure why) I joined Twitter, at the request/force of my sister. And she was like “Do it NOW! Before all the good names get taken!” And she even checked which names were and whatnot for me. So yeah, without much reluctance, I joined. (I kind of wanted to, but just was too lazy… there’s that procrastination again. It creeps up on you, doesn’t it? You don’t realize just how much it affects your life… ugh)

Well, I saw this coming, but what I didn’t expect was this post getting long enough that I would decide to post it during the week. Well, you surprise even yourself sometimes… 
I just watched the first episode of the new show Lie To Me and I just have to say I thought it was fabulous. This is definitely getting added to my list of shows. I love the glares and stares of the main guy, Cal Lightman and for some reason, he reminds me of House from House (that sounded redundant lol), even though I’ve only seen a few episodes of that (yes, I know… it’s a shame). I think it’s their harsh and hidden (or not so hidden?) pessimistic view on life that I like, maybe because it’s kinda of like my view? lol perhaps, perhaps.
I really liked the style of the show and how they emphasized the little gestures or microexpressions to get us into the mind of Lightman and see what he sees without explicitly saying that. What I’m a little worried about though is how far this show can go, because part of the reason I liked this episode so much was that I learned some of the microexpressions that people use to show or hide certain expressions and show how they lie, but I’m under the impression that there can only be so many different ways the body tells us that a person is lying. At that point, I feel like it might get repetitive, but then again, the idea of CSI sounds repetitive and yet I love that show and there are at least three shows like that (I don’t like CSI: New York. And you may say it’s just the same as either of the other two, but it’s not just the characters I don’t like, but it’s just too grey. Las Vegas is dark, Miami is sunset-coloured, and New York is grey. From a random recent episode I saw of it, it looks like it got better, but it’s still there. I guess I’m biased now against it so there’s an even less chance of me getting to like it, but well, yeah).
