… World destruction?

I think not.

Confused? That’s okay. I’ll even explain the double meaning to the title. Have I lost you yet? Hehe that’s fine. I was trying to think of an interesting title that would be attention-grabbing yet still connected to what I’m going to write about, and this is what I came up with. Hehe I actually think it’s pretty smart.

Alright! Time to explain. So, throughout this past week, there’s been a lot of talk about this thing called the Large Hadron Collider. It’s been talked about so much that even I can tell that the Wikipedia page about it has been changed slightly everyday this week. So what is it? It’s this huge underground ring that is a particle accelerator where scientists are trying to find out a number of things, particularly about anti-matter and the possible Higgs boson. Check Wikipedia for more information. This stuff is pretty complex so confusion and paranoia ensues. Because they are in a way simulating the Big Bang, there are many who think a black hole will be created thereby destroying the planet. The end of the world as we know it? World Destruction? Once again, I think not. It’s true that we don’t really know what will happen or what the results will be, but seriously. They have already successfully fired this thing. Are we dead yet? I don’t think so. I think part of the reason why people are getting so scared is because of how the LHC was portrayed in Dan Brown’s Angels & Demons where it was used as a weapon. But they’re not using this thing for dangerous purposes! In fact, it’s quite cool!

Phew. Does that clear some things up now?
So… what was the second meaning? Well, I started watching this show called World Destruction. lol Yeah, you heard me right. That’s what it’s called.

And yes I also know I’m behind since they are already at the 10th episode (or past that now?) and it’s supposed to end at ep. 13. From the three episodes I’ve seen, the basic idea is that after Kirie (a useless teenager) and Toppi (a talking bear and self-proclaimed hero) get caught seen with Morte Ashera, a World Destruction Committee member, they are now all on the run from the World Salvation Committee while Morte tries to use the Destruct Code (an orby thing) to destroy the world. The thing is Morte doesn’t know how to use it, but it seems to react around Kirie…?

First of all, the voice cast is amazing, with Maaya Sakamoto and Mamoru Miyano as leads. It’s quite funny to see Sakamoto as the strong and angry one while Miyano is the useless weak guy. However, the show itself doesn’t really look like it’s going anywhere (after three eps). There’s a general goal but it just looks like a problem of the week-style show right now. I’ll probably watch this eventually, but right now? I have other things on my list of things to do with higher priority. So… World Destruction? I think not. At least, not right now.

Any other news? Some mobile games are moving to the PSP! Which ones? Kingdom Hearts:Coded and Final Fantasy Agito XIII! Yay! Well, it’s still in rumour status for Coded, but that’s also because they will be releasing it on the mobile and also possibly on the PSP. Still, that will be in a while because there are a lot of other things going on. Like… Kingdom Hearts Re:Chain of Memories for PS2! Earlier this year, there were rumours about the auditions for English voice actors of characters that would only appear in CoM and it seems like this game will be coming to North America this fall! Still, except for FF Agito XIII being on the PSP, the rest of this is still speculation, but we’ll see…!

By the way, Dissidia is looking awesome.
Now if only they added Cloud to the cast…
and maybe some more girls… Girls can fight too, you know! Tifa, anyone?
